Uphill Lincoln I and Monk’s Road. Chapters include explorations of the districts Roman occupation; mining and quarrying in the neighbourhood; the building of Lincoln Prison and the County Hospital; the district’s schools and places of worship. Residential development ranging from grand residences to the pioneering Giles’ housing development is also emphasised.
