I Didn’t Have Cancer For Nothing
£2.48 – £10.95
Description
This is the true story of Lyn Ellis, a remarkable lady born in Bradford, who lived her whole married life in ‘old Lincolnshire’. She made it her mission to allow other people access to first class medical equipment after fighting her own illness.
Through her activities, she raised over ?227,000 (as at 20.05.87) for Pilgrim Hospital for DOCATEF (Detection of Cancer and Treatment Equipment Fund) and was justly rewarded by such honours as the British Empire Medal, June 1987 and being the only woman to be made a Freeman of the Borough of Boston.
This is the perfect read for anyone who wants a reminder of how much individuals are capable of.
