Description

Guernsey, the second largest of the Channel Islands, has some fascinating buildings.  Between 1813 and 1831, John Wilson was responsible, amongst other things, for designing three of the most notable buildings of the St Peter Port skyline.  Namely St James Concert Hall, Castle Carey and Elizabeth College, all these are prominent in this book.  There are however, in addition, a further 20 buildings, celebrated in this volume along with many sketches and photographs.

Based on the notes of the late George Bramall and a range of other sources, Simon Coombe brings together for the first time all that is known about each of Wilson’s projects in this extensively-illustrated celebration of the work of Guernsey’s great architect.
