Not only for quality of output but also quality of rods and care given to their cultivation and for the fineness of the basketry done there. This book is the product of a study to record a local traditional country craft.

Dedicated to Harry Summers, basket maker of Sutton on Trent but also for the many willow growers, workers and basket makers who took the willow rod and created multi-use containers for home, farm, factory and even transport and gave the Trent valley an international reputation and products renowned for their quality.
