Monumental Brasses
£2.25
Description
A fascinating booklet by Jeremy Wheeldon, who became interested in Church Brasses after seeing an exhibition of rubbings in Cambridge and joined the Monumental Brass Society in 1965.
This volume looks at 50 of the remaining brasses in St Botolph’s Church, Boston (which boasted nearly 100 brasses in the late 16th century). Each represents a valuable record of costume, heraldry and religious belief along with the skill of the men who designed and engraved them.
RRP is £2.95 however they are now available with a 25% discount – £2.25. This is because the metal stitching (staples) of the remaining stock have unfortunately rusted. This in no way affects the contents or readability of the book but it would be unreasonable to sell them as perfect copies.
