From momentary teenage bravado followed by an unwillingness to withdraw from his assumed adult status this charming book of reminiscences describes some of the experiences of one man in one of the oldest and hardest occupations in the world, trawling, from the mid 20th century in Grimsby. His war time service in the Royal Navy receives little mention, indeed there is more said about his post war experiences of trawling up the debris of war than any account of wartime minesweeping.
