Who are Lincolnshire?s finest citizens? You decide!
Kind-hearted residents in Lincolnshire are to be celebrated, as the popular Good Citizens Awards return for 2013. This is your chance to nominate those who give up their time for free to help others and the community, who don't get the recognition they deserve.
Awards will recognise Lincolnshire residents.
Councillor Charlotte Farquharson,vice-chairman of Lincolnshire County Council, said:
"This is your chance to highlight the work of extraordinary people across the county, whose voluntary contributions have made a noticeable difference to local life. They don't do it for reward, but the hugely positive impact they have in their communities should be recognised."
It could be someone who looks after an elderly, disabled or disadvantaged person; a dedicated charity fundraiser; or perhaps someone who gives up their free time to help young people - the choice is yours.
The awards come in three categories:Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year (aged 16 or below), and Community Group of the Year.
James Vickers, last year's Citizen of the Year, says: "Volunteering and seeing that your free time can make a difference is incredibly rewarding. There are a lot of people in Lincolnshire who give up their time for the benefit of others, without reward, and they should be recognised."
