Free Heritage Skills Courses at St Peter and St Paul Algarkirk
St Peter and St Paul’s in Algarkirk is a beautiful medieval church.
Containing nationally significant Victorian stained glass and decorations, it is a remarkable and important building.Today, however, the church is in desperate need of repair and restoration. The church has been awarded a £175,000 grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop a project which will restore the building and re-establish it as a significant and relevant asset to Algarkirk. As part of this work, a series of courses in conservation skills have been funded to raise awareness of how we look after buildings like St Peter and St Paul’s and to determine what kinds of training could be run in the building after work has completed as part of a partnership between the church and the Heritage Skills Centre.
